How we know what we know
About Refine.med and methods
Refine.med is an experimental project that aims to keep high-quality evidence about complex conditions up to date in a structured way. For Huntington's disease, the long-term goal is to maintain living, knowledge-graph-backed systematic reviews across key treatment questions.
This page is a plain-language placeholder for the full methods section that will follow as the pipeline matures.
Planned evidence pipeline
- Define clear clinical questions and outcomes.
- Search multiple trial registries and publication databases.
- Screen and include eligible studies using transparent criteria.
- Extract and normalise data into a common model.
- Assess risk of bias and certainty for each outcome.
- Synthesise results with appropriate statistical methods.
- Publish both human-readable summaries and machine-readable outputs.
Disclaimers and limitations
- Refine.med does not currently have formal endorsement from any professional society.
- Methods and coverage are still evolving; some topics may not yet be complete or fully checked.
- Nothing on this site should be taken as individual medical advice.
Next steps
As the Huntington's disease evidence engine develops, we expect to share more technical documentation, including links to protocol registrations, statistical analysis code, and knowledge graph snapshots.
